Job summary

EY is seeking a WAF Operations Solution Engineer to implement and manage Web Application Firewall solutions, protecting client applications from cyber threats. You will monitor traffic, analyze security events, respond to incidents, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance security postures.

The role emphasizes configuring WAFs, automating security measures with Terraform, and providing operational coverage, while mentoring junior engineers and supporting audits and assessments

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in CS/IT/Cybersecurity.
• 3–5 years in web application security operations focusing on WAF management.
• Hands-on with Cloudflare and Imperva required.
• Proficiency with Terraform for automation preferred.
• Strong knowledge of web app security, ITIL processes, and incident management.

Responsibilities

• Configure, manage and optimize WAF solutions to secure web applications.
• Provide ongoing operational coverage of web application firewalls.
• Monitor application traffic and security events to identify threats.
• Analyze security incidents and perform root-cause analysis and remediation.
• Collaborate with incident response teams to investigate incidents promptly.
• Develop and maintain WAF policies, rules, and documentation.
• Support security audits and assessments and ensure policy compliance.
• Stay updated on evolving threats and security technologies.
• Use Cloudflare and Imperva for implementation and management.
• Leverage Terraform IaC to automate deployments.
• Mentor junior engineers on WAF management and incident response.
