Job summary

EY seeks a WAF Operations Solution Engineer to implement and manage Web Application Firewall solutions, monitoring traffic, analyzing security events and responding to incidents to protect client applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security posture and automate measures using Cloudflare, Imperva and Terraform.

The role requires 1–2 years in web application security operations, a strong security mindset, and the ability to work in a dynamic consulting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in web application security operations, focusing on WAF management.
• Hands-on experience with WAF solutions such as Cloudflare and Imperva.
• Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Strong understanding of web application protocols, security principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing systems for incident management.
• Certifications (e.g., CISSP, Security+) are a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Configure and optimize WAF solutions to establish security controls for web apps.
• Provide ongoing operational coverage of web application firewalls.
• Monitor application traffic and security events to identify threats.
• Analyze security incidents and perform root-cause remediation.
• Collaborate with incident response teams to investigate and respond to incidents.
• Develop and maintain WAF policies, rules and documentation.
• Support security audits and assessments and ensure policy adherence.
• Stay current with emerging threats and security technologies.
• Leverage WAF solutions (Cloudflare, Imperva) and Terraform IaC for deployment and management.
