Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics seeks a Senior Vaccine Program Manager to set strategic direction for vaccine R&D projects and establish governance frameworks. You will lead end-to-end portfolio execution, monitor pipeline health, and drive corrective actions across global teams.

The role requires 10+ years in pharma R&D project management, strong leadership in matrix environments, and PMBOK/Agile experience. Travel up to 20% is expected, with emphasis on digital planning tools and AI-enabled planning.

Job description

Main Responsibilities

• Set strategic direction for Vaccines R&D project management (standards, governance frameworks, AI/digital-enabled practices).
• Drive end-to-end portfolio execution (scope, schedule, cost, quality), monitor pipeline health, accelerate and drive corrective actions.
• Lead risk management and compliance for all New Vaccine projects (risk identification, lessons learned, audit readiness).
• Enable governance via transparent Stage Gate processes; act as TARC Secretary and liaison between Vaccine R&D and Corporate Portfolio Management.
• Lead and develop a global team (20+; 4 direct reports; 15+ project managers total), fostering accountability, continuous improvement, and digital innovation.
• Oversee financial and resource planning (resource and cost forecasts; alignment across R&D, Franchise, and Manufacturing/Supply).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s or PhD in Life Sciences/Medicine/Pharmacy/Engineering or equivalent preferred.
• PMP, Agile, or equivalent preferred.
• 10+ years pharmaceutical R&D project/program management required.
• 3+ years people leadership experience required.

Required/Preferred Expertise & Skills

• End-to-end vaccine/pharma development value chain knowledge.
• Leadership in complex global matrix environments.
• PM methodologies (PMBOK; Hybrid/Agile preferred).
• Proven risk management; business/financial acumen.
• Experience rolling out digital planning tools/AI.
• English fluent (required); French fluent (preferred).
• Up to 20% domestic/international travel.
