Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory in northern New Mexico seeks a Vulnerability Scanning Specialist to manage scanning across a large, diverse network. You will troubleshoot scanning issues, implement enhancements, and collaborate with CSIRT/NSOC to maintain a scalable, secure infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting any industry vulnerability scanning/management tool.
• Experience with enterprise vulnerability management: configuring scanning, reviewing results, and remediation strategies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members.
• Strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform enterprise-wide vulnerability scans using Nessus and Tenable platforms.
• Provide Tier 3 support for complex scanning issues.
• Troubleshoot network and agent-based scanning problems.
• Implement enhancements to improve scanning and analysis capabilities.
• Collaborate with CSIRT, NSOC, and team members to maintain secure infrastructure.
