Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC's AWS Vulnerability Management team is seeking a Security Engineer to help assess, triage, and remediate security risks across AWS. You will partner with engineers and service teams to identify root causes, drive scalable fixes, and accelerate response times so high-risk issues are resolved before adversaries can exploit them.

Qualifications

• CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) or CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) or CFR (CyberSec First Responder) or Cloud+ or CySA+ (CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst) or GCED (GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender) or GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional) or PenTest+.
• 4+ years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object oriented language experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• 3+ years of any combination of: threat modeling, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security

Responsibilities

• Assess and triage vulnerability disclosures and threat intelligence, authoring clear risk statements and remediation guidance that inform decision-making across AWS service teams.
• Own and coordinate large-scale remediation campaigns, tracking progress and reporting outcomes to security leadership while driving root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Partner with builder teams across AWS to design pragmatic, maintainable security controls that reduce risk at scale without slowing innovation.
• Apply AI and automation to accelerate vulnerability assessment, remediation, and mitigation workflows, continuously improving the team's speed and consistency.
• Mentor fellow security engineers through peer reviews and knowledge sharing, raising the quality bar for the team's processes and deliverables.
