Job summary

AppFolio seeks a Vulnerability Management Specialist to join the security engineering team in Chicago. You will validate, prioritize, and track vulnerabilities across our SaaS platforms, collaborating with developers and operations to reduce risk.

You should have 2–5 years in cybersecurity, scripting skills (Python or Ruby), and hands-on experience with DefectDojo, Invicti, Wiz, or Cycode. Knowledge of SAST/DAST/SCA and cloud environments is a plus.

Qualifications

2–5 years in a cybersecurity role (Vulnerability Management, Penetration Testing or Incident Response).
Ability to write scripts in Ruby, Python, or other scripting languages.
Experience with vulnerability management tools (DefectDojo, Invicti, Wiz, Cycode).
Experience with manual testing tools to validate vulnerabilities.
Knowledge of SAST/DAST/SCA and pen test tools.

Responsibilities

Validate, prioritize, communicate, and track vulnerabilities to improve security posture.
Respond to emerging threats and 0-day vulnerabilities.
Ensure compliance with vulnerability management policies and procedures.
Advance vulnerability management through AI, ML, and automation.
