Job summary

Island is seeking a Security Operations Engineer to own day-to-day vulnerability and compliance scanning, strengthening security posture across commercial and FedRAMP environments. You will drive scanning operations, partner with compliance and engineering, and scale tooling and processes as Island grows.

This 100% in-office role is based at Coppell, TX near Dallas and offers collaboration with a fast-moving product security team, with opportunities for expanded ownership over time.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in security operations or IT security.
• Hands-on with vulnerability scanning tools (Burp Suite, Nessus, Tenable) one required.
• Familiarity with FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, or similar frameworks is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain vulnerability scanning tools across applications and infrastructure.
• Run scans regularly for releases, audits, and initiatives.
• Produce reports and artifacts for internal stakeholders and auditors.
• Collaborate with SecOps Lead and product security team.
