Job summary

Applied Aerospace & Defense seeks a VTL Machinist in Manchester to set up, operate, troubleshoot and perform work on vertical turning lathes (VTL). You will be trained to meet exacting quality standards in a precision manufacturing environment on the first shift.

Qualifications

• Set up operations previously proven under supervision.
• Identify tooling and cutting-method improvements and document work instructions.
• Maintain high quality and identify non-conformances at time of occurrence.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement projects (5S, TPM, kaizen) and set-up reduction activities.
• Maintain safe work practices and raise safety concerns.
• Assist or train other employees when needed.
• Refer difficulties to a supervisor as appropriate.
• May be assigned additional tasks to develop skills.
