Job summary

ACCO Engineered Systems seeks a Quality Control Visual Inspector to perform visual inspection of mechanical, piping, and welding-related installation activities for high-purity projects including semiconductor tool hookups and cleanroom piping. You will verify welds, fit-up, cleanliness, and compliance with ASME codes and customer specs.

The role requires ASNT VT Level II, 3+ years QC experience, and 1–2 years in cleanroom piping or semiconductor projects.

Qualifications

• Current ASNT VT Level II certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in construction or fabrication quality control.
• 1-2 years' experience in cleanroom piping, process utilities, or high-purity/semiconductor projects.
• Ability to meet business Standard Written Practice and Examination requirements and obtain approval.
• Proficiency in using construction management platforms such as OpenSpace for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough visual testing (VT) of welded, brazed, and mechanical joints to ensure structural and functional integrity.
• Verify pipe fit-up, alignment, cleanliness, and workmanship for high-purity process piping, clean utilities, and HVAC systems.
• Ensure installations comply with ASME piping codes (B31.3, B31.9) and customer standards.
• Review and maintain fabrication/installation logs (weld maps, fit-up logs, brazing logs, torque records).
• Identify nonconforming workmanship and initiate NCRs via construction management platforms like OpenSpace.
• Participate in pressure tests, system walkdowns, punch-list inspections, and turnover verification.
• Inspect material and equipment deliveries to verify order compliance.
• Note: this role does not qualify welders/brazers, approve WPS/PQR, or act as CWI.
• Other responsibilities as directed by the supervisor.
