Job summary

World Wide Technology, Inc. seeks a Systems Engineer for Government Services. You will design, deploy, and sustain Windows and Linux environments with IaC tooling (Ansible, Python, JSON), and work extensively with VMware Cloud Foundation and NSX-T networking to support Navy/DoD missions.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, written and spoken communication, and a proven problem-solving track record in classified environments. Active Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; 3–5 years experience.
• IAT Level II (Security+ or equivalent) required
• Secret clearance required; DoD/government programs experience a plus.
• Strong technical proficiency in encryption, VPNs, firewalls, and MDM solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, harden, and sustain Windows and Linux environments with IaC tooling (Ansible, Python, JSON).
• Develop/Test Automation Frameworks; leverage data formats (txt, XML, JSON, HTML) for Robot Framework compatibility.
• Perform system administration: patching, STIG compliance, high availability in enterprise/classified environments.
• Deploy and optimize VMware Cloud Foundation stacks (VCF, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN).
• Implement NSX-T networking components and integrate with underlay infrastructure.
• Apply TCP/IP and routing/switching fundamentals to ensure secure, reliable connectivity.

What will you be doing?

WWT is seeking aSystems Engineerwho will serve on a team of technical engineers in support of multiple government programs. This role places strong emphasis on the systems side: designing, deploying, hardening, and sustaining Windows and Linux environments while leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Ansible, Python, and JSON. You will work extensively with VMware technologies, including VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and NSX-T, applying solid TCP/IP, routing, and switching fundamentals to deliver secure, reliable infrastructure for Navy and DoD missions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, good communication, presentation, and writing abilities, and a proven track record as a problem solver and team player in technically challenging, classified environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation:Design, develop, and maintain modular Ansible playbooks/roles, Python scripts, and JSON templates to automate system provisioning, configuration management, patching, compliance enforcement, and day-to-day operations. To include Repository Consolidation amongst a wide range of code utilized by different and dependent teams. Apply automation knowledge to deliver automative methods for installations and patching based on latest guidance and mandates.
• Test Automation Framework's (TAF) Test Automation as a Service:Apply Python development and other tools to deploy a Test Automation Framework. This includes utilizing common data formats like .txt, .XML, .JSON, .HTML, and Python files (.py) for compatibility with Robot Framework implementations.
• System Administration (Windows & Linux):Install, configure, maintain, patch, and harden Windows Server and Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) systems, ensuring STIG compliance, security baselines, and high availability in enterprise and classified environments.
• VMware Virtualization & VCF:Deploy, configure, manage, and optimize VMware vSphere clusters and full VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) stacks, including vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, and workload domains supporting mission-critical applications.
• NSX-T Software-Defined Networking:Implement, troubleshoot, and maintain NSX-T logical networking components (switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers) and integrate with physical underlay infrastructure.
• Networking Fundamentals:Apply strong TCP/IP knowledge, Layer 2/3 concepts, VLANs, routing (static, OSPF/BGP basics), switching, ACLs, and firewall rules to ensure secure, reliable system connectivity and segmentation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field and/or 3-5 years related experience.
• Certifications:
• IAT Level II is required (i.e. Security+)
• Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Cisco CCNA,CCNP, CISSP, RHCSA, RHCSE certifications preferred
• Strong technical proficiency in encryption technologies (e.g., IPsec, TLS), virtual private networks (VPNs), firewalls, and mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
• Experience with commercial security products from vendors like Cisco, Palo Alto, or Juniper, and familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, FIPS 140-2).
• Experience with commercial mobility and wireless products like Cisco and Aruba.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and implement secure, scalable solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Secret clearance required.

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $130,000 to $190,000 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.
