Job summary

World Wide Technology seeks a seasoned AWS-focused engineer to design, develop, and document a new IL4/IL5 AWS environment for a government services client. You will work with customer teams to define platform requirements, propose solutions, and verify compliance to security standards.

The role requires experience in Windows, Linux, Networking, Cybersecurity, and Data Center operations, with DevSecOps and cloud background. Onsite work in Texas is expected, with competitive base pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Interim Secret Clearance required prior to start; TS/SCI preferred.
• 3+ years of related field experience with technical solutions.
• Proven experience in Windows, Linux, Networking, Cyber Security, and Data Center environments.
• Proven experience with DevSecOps and cloud environments.
• Proven experience with AWS, especially IL4/IL5 platform.
• BA/BS in IT discipline or equivalent; strong project management ability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present ideas clearly.
• Experience influencing and leading personnel; ability to write business reports.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy a secure AWS platform for a government services client.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners including Government Engineers and Contractors.
• Ensure timely delivery of Engineering Service Requests and manage risks.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and documentation.
• Provide briefings to customers' management and maintain meeting minutes.
• Report project risks and mitigation strategies to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with multiple organizations to define requirements and schedules.
• Produce status reporting and ensure alignment with project scope.

What is the Government Services Team and why join?

Our Government Services team provides cleared resources with a global reach to federal civilian, Department of Defense (DoD), and intelligence community markets. What will you be doing?

WWT is seeking a candidate to help design, develop, engineer, and document the new Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment and infrastructure supporting our customer. They will work with the customer to identify platform requirements and solutions, propose new concepts and work through challenges, and verify compliance for the platform based on the customer’s requirements. The AWS environment will be IL4/IL5 certified. Experience with Windows, Linux, Networking, and Security especially in a cloud environment will be the key to success with the buildout of this new platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work as a team to design, build, and deploy a secure and compliant AWS platform
• Collaborate openly and frankly with all internal and external partners, such as Government Engineers, Contractor Engineers, Contractor Operations staff, Management, and 3rd party vendors
• Ensure timely delivery of all assigned Engineering Service Requests, removing any obstacles to completing work as scheduled
• Perform risk analysis of each assigned Engineering Service Request, and inform all stakeholders of the applicable risks
• Develop, maintain, and execute project plan(s) in support of the platform development and future support
• Perform and coordinate project management activities in accordance with the customers project management team
• Discuss projects at a technical level
• Establish project milestones and monitor adherence to project scope, requirements, and schedules
• Coordinate with internal and external organizations by arranging, chairing, and facilitating meetings to establish project requirements and schedules while ensuring these are well understood and achievable
• Provide regular status reporting for project activities which is circulated to the key stakeholders. The specific schedule, distribution, and reporting requirements will be defined and agreed as part of the Project Initiation activities
• Develop and provide briefings to customers management stakeholders
• Provide meeting minutes documenting action items, milestones, and status
• Report project risks along with risk mitigation recommendations
• Develop and maintain documentation as required
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Interim Secret Clearance required prior to start, TS/SCI preferred
• Possess a technical IAT-II certification (Sec+ or alternate)
• At least 3 years job experience in a related field working on technical solutions
• Proven experience in Windows, Linux, Networking, Cyber Security, and Data Center environments
• Proven experience with DevSecOps preferred
• Proven experience in a cloud environment
• Proven experience with AWS, especially in support of an IL4/IL5 platform
• Possess a strong understanding of Engineering in multiple technical areas
• BA/BS degree in an IT discipline, or equivalent, plus proven experience in project management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present ideas in a business-friendly and user-friendly language.
• Experience in effectively influencing and leading personnel and the ability to write business reports in a well‑organized manner

Preferred locations: San Antonio, TX and surrounding areas

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $165,000.00 to $185,000.00 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.
