Job summary

World Wide Technology (WWT) is seeking a Systems Engineer for the Business Infrastructure Services team, with the opportunity to convert to a full‑time role based on performance.

World Wide Technology, Inc., has an opportunity for a Systems Engineer to help support a wide range of core infrastructure technologies, including compute, storage, networking, operating systems, monitoring, backups/recovery, automation frameworks, and potentially end user technologies.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years managing VMware environment.
• At least 3 years automating with PowerShell, Python, Puppet, Ansible, or Bash.
• At least 5 years managing Windows Server and Linux Server Operating Systems.
• Willingness to provide on-site support at the Integration Center.

Responsibilities

• Manage Compute environment (VxRail).
• Automate IaaS/PaaS technologies and scripts.
• Maintain OS: VMware ESXi, Windows Server, Linux distributions.
• Provide on-call support per published schedule.
• Document policies and procedures for Integration Center infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Integration Center leadership and cross-functional IT resources.

What will you be doing?

World Wide Technology (WWT) is seeking a Systems Engineer for the Business Infrastructure Services team, with the opportunity to convert to a full‑time role based on performance and business need. World Wide Technology, Inc., has an opportunity for a Systems Engineer to help support a wide range of core infrastructure technologies, including compute, storage, networking, operating systems, monitoring, backups/recovery, automation frameworks, and potentially end user technologies. This role requires the ability to provide on-site support at our Integration Center and demands strong communication skills to collaborate with Integration Center leadership and cross‑functional IT resources.

As a Systems Engineer, your primary objective is to design, install, and maintain the infrastructure services within our Integration Center (lab) environments. You must be able and motivated to expand your technical knowledge and skills through a combination of formal training, self‑directed training, and on-the-job experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage Compute environment
  • VxRail
• Manage existing configuration management and automation
• Familiar with the following Operating Systems
  • VMware ESXi, Windows Server (Active Directory, DHCP, File Share, Terminal Services), and Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu)
• Able to automate IaaS, PaaS technologies
• PowerShell
• Python
• Ansible
• Or similar programming languages that assist in automation
• Creative thinker who looks for new ways to solve problems
• Provide typical systems administration support (OS, server hardware & Tier 2/3 ticket support)
• Perform routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance
• Capacity planning and performance planning
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with vendors
• Document the policies and procedures to support the Integration Center Infrastructure environments and participate in the design and ongoing refinement of procedures and policies
• Provide on‑call support per the published schedule

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 3 years of experience managing a VMware environment
• At least 3 years of experience building automation with tools such as:
  • PowerShell
  • Python
  • Puppet
  • Ansible
  • BASH
• At least 5 years of experience managing Windows Server and Linux Server Operating Systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with monitoring systems such as:
  • Splunk
  • LogicMonitor
  • Tanium
  • Tenable
• Knowledgeable in basic network configuration (route switch, firewall, cabling, layer 2 heavy environments, data center and campus networking, routing protocols, subnetting, IP protocols, IOSXE, Cisco ASA/FTD)
• Experience in managing ServiceNow tickets, as well as developing reporting and dashboards
• Experience in managing projects or leading the work of others

Location: MO

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $108,400 to $135,500 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.
