Job summary

Lincoln Premium Poultry is seeking a maintenance technician to provide technical support, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment. Responsibilities include monitoring equipment, handling cold conditions, reviewing work orders, and maintaining documentation.

Opportunity to train peers and participate in safety programs. Requirements include an Associate’s degree in Mechanics or Technology preferred, plus up to 6 months related maintenance experience and familiarity with VFDs.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical procedures.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and calculating percentages.
  • Skill in using power tools.
  • Skill in using a personal computer and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner with customers.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor VRT area to ensure proper functioning of assigned equipment.
  • Be able to handle extreme cold temperatures with proper cold gear for majority of shift.
  • Review work orders to ensure accuracy and maintain documentation of work performed.
  • Adjust, maintain, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Assist with installation of new equipment or modify existing equipment as required.
  • Provide training to peers as requested or needed by maintenance tech lead.
  • Make suggestions for correctible measures when downtime results from mechanical or technical defects.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and gives feedback to supervisor, including cost reduction, quality improvement and yield control.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Perform backup duties to other staff as needed.

JOB SUMMARY:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of electricaland mechanicalprocedures.

  • Skill in using power tools.
  • Skill in using a personal computerand various software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate in acourteous and professionalmanner with both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and scissors lift.
  • Ability to consistently practice and enforce safe working habits.
  • Ability to recognize safety risks and comply with all safety standards.
  • Abilityto read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including being on-call and weekends.
  • Welding ability highly preferred.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Associate’s Degree in Mechanics or Technology preferred. Minimum of 6 monthsrelated experiencein a maintenance position.Previous experience working with VFDs (Variable Frequency Drive) preferred.
