Job summary

State of Nebraska invites applications for a part-time VR Front Desk Associate (Program Associate III) at our Lincoln office. You will greet visitors, provide exceptional customer service, and support VR Specialists with daily operations in a welcoming, team-driven environment.

Work hours are Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, on-site. The role does not sponsor visas and is paid at $19.939 per hour, with a robust benefits package for part-time staff.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience providing customer service and welcoming visitors is preferred.
  • Ability to use a client data system and keep accurate records.

Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors and respond to basic questions about Vocational Rehabilitation.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain electronic files and mail.
  • Operate office equipment, manage inventory, and supply stock.
  • Enter client information into QE2 and support VR Specialists with tasks.
  • Coordinate with medical providers, schools, and other organizations to gather information.

Job Description: If you get gratification from helping others and providing a welcoming first impression, join us as a VR Program Associate! In this role, you’ll play a key part in our daily operations, offering exceptional customer service to clients and providing valuable support to VR Specialists across various tasks.

This is a part-time, on-site position focused on greeting visitors to our office. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. If you\'re excited to make a positive impact in a collaborative, team-driven environment, we’d love to have you on board!

The Nebraska Department of Education does not sponsor or transfer non-immigrant work visas for these positions.

Office Location: This position is assigned to our office located at 84th & O St, Lincoln, NE.

Pay Grade 3: $19.939/hour

This rate is based upon available budget funds; any offer will be made at this rate.

Essential Functions

  • Performs receptionist duties, responds to basic questions about Vocational Rehabilitation, and schedules appointments for clients.
  • Maintains electronic files, makes copies, routes information, and processes mail and postage.
  • Operates and maintains office equipment, manages inventory, and orders and stocks equipment and supplies.
  • Enters client information into the Nebraska VR data system (QE2) for intake, appointment set up, service provision, etc. Runs reports, and monitors and updates client employment milestones. Uploads client documents and enters task notes for all client interactions.
  • Contacts medical providers, schools, and other organizations to request and collect necessary medical, school, public benefit, and financial information; and ensures receipt of requested information.
  • Assists VR Specialists with client purchases.

Working Conditions And Travel: This position requires approximately 100% of work time spent in an office environment. There is no expected overnight travel.

Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience related to the essential functions of the position. Any equivalent education and/or work experience may be substituted in order to meet the minimum qualifications of the position.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with persons with disabilities, providing customer service. Experience using a client data system and keeping accurate records.
