Job summary

Eventus Education seeks a dedicated VPK Teacher to lead a Voluntary Prekindergarten classroom and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum promoting kindergarten readiness.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma is required.
• CDA credential or equivalent preferred.
• VPK endorsement or state VPK credential (preferred/required depending on state regulations).
• Previous experience with preschool or prekindergarten children.
• Strong knowledge of early childhood development and kindergarten readiness skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with VPK standards and early learning benchmarks.
• Deliver engaging instruction that promotes literacy, math readiness, language development, and critical thinking.
• Utilize diverse teaching strategies including hands-on learning, small group instruction, and guided play.
• Create activities that support kindergarten readiness and school preparedness.
• Provide individualized support to address each child's learning needs and developmental stage.
• Monitor children's social, emotional, and cognitive growth throughout the program year.
• Maintain accurate records of student development and learning milestones.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes exploration and creativity.
• Guide children in developing positive behavior, self-regulation, and cooperative play.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies that support emotional and behavioral growth.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing standards.
• Build strong relationships with parents and guardians through regular communication and conferences.
• Share updates on student progress, developmental milestones, and areas for growth.

Family Engagement & Communication

Collaboration & Professional Development

• Collaborate with fellow educators, directors, and support staff to enhance curriculum delivery and student outcomes.
• Participate in professional development and training related to early childhood education and VPK standards.
• Support center initiatives that promote high-quality early learning programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement)
• Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or equivalent (preferred)
• VPK Endorsement or State VPK Credential (preferred or required depending on state regulations)
• Previous experience working with preschool or prekindergarten children
• Strong knowledge of early childhood development and kindergarten readiness skills
• Ability to implement developmentally appropriate practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young learners
