Dow Jones is seeking a commercially minded VP, Video Sales & Strategy to drive the growth and commercialization of its digital video advertising business. This role combines strategic thinking with commercial execution to refine go-to-market strategy, develop key relationships, and expand revenue opportunities.
The VP will directly report to an SVP of Advertising Sales in the Chief Revenue Officer’s organization and will work closely with the new video team under the Chief Growth Officer.
This is a senior role for a leader who understands both how digital video inventory is bought and sold across today’s increasingly complex media ecosystem. The ideal candidate brings deep experience working with advertisers, media agencies, publishers and platforms and understands how video investment decisions are made across premium publishers, streaming environments, social platforms, programmatic channels and other digital distribution platforms.
This individual should have deep knowledge of FAST, AVOD/SVOD, YouTube, as well as Advanced Television buying/planning/selling, and Programmatic Buying and Selling (DSP, SSP).
As Dow Jones plans significant investment into serialized shows, the VP will play a central role in shaping and executing the commercial strategy for Dow Jones’s existing and future digital video inventory, including how inventory is positioned, packaged, priced and brought to market. This person will work closely with sales leadership, product, programming, audience, advertising operations and finance teams to maximize the value of Dow Jones video inventory and create compelling, scalable solutions for advertisers and agencies.
A primary focus of the role will be leveraging strong relationships with the digital and video buying centers within major holding companies: diversifying revenue pipeline and integrating Dow Jones video solutions within proprietary buying models, technologies, and upfront/scatter ecosystems. Additionally, the VP will work alongside existing sales teams and client-direct relationships bringing deep video expertise to help grow existing relationships with video-specific revenue pipeline.
