About this opportunity

Ericsson Ventures (EV) is seeking a Vice President to join its investment team in the USA. In this role, you will play a central part in identifying, evaluating, executing, and supporting venture investments. This is not a purely analytical position — we are looking for a credible, externally oriented investor who can develop proprietary deal flow, build trusted relationships with founders and ecosystem participants, and help portfolio companies create value. EV operates as a flat organization guided by a mission to deliver strong returns through investments that provide strategic insight and/or support Ericsson's operations.

What you will do
  • Originate and develop investment opportunities aligned with EV's thesis, stage, ownership targets, and check size.
  • Build and maintain relationships with founders, entrepreneurs, co-investors, executives, and university and research communities.
  • Develop sector theses and market maps, identifying emerging companies, technical shifts, and competitive dynamics.
  • Lead founder meetings and assess team quality, market attractiveness, product differentiation, and return profile.
  • Drive end-to-end due diligence across customer, product, technical, financial, legal, and cap-table dimensions.
  • Prepare high-quality investment memos and present recommendations and risks to the investment committee.
  • Lead term sheet analysis, deal structuring, legal documentation review, and manage the closing process.
  • Serve as a liaison between portfolio companies and relevant Ericsson operating units.
  • Collaborate with founders and management teams on go-to-market strategy, recruiting, partnerships, and fundraising.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and evaluate follow-on investments, secondary opportunities, and exit considerations.
  • Support the growth of junior investment professionals and contribute to fund strategy and process improvement.
The skills you will bring
  • 8–10+ years of relevant experience in venture investing, growth equity, and/or operating roles at high-growth technology companies.
  • Demonstrated track record of sourcing opportunities, building founder and executive relationships, and exercising sound investment judgment.
  • Strong financial, analytical, market research, and business writing skills, with the ability to create concise, decision-useful investment materials.
  • Direct investing experience at a venture capital, growth equity, corporate venture, or crossover fund is preferred.
  • Experience in EV's target domains: AI infrastructure, communications, enterprise software, cloud, data, cybersecurity, semiconductors, or industrial technology.
  • Technical fluency sufficient to evaluate products, architectures, and engineering teams in EV's areas of focus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work constructively with founders, boards, co-investors, and internal colleagues.
  • An MBA, advanced technical degree, or equivalent experience is welcome but not required.
  • AI is becoming core to how we build and deliver at Ericsson. We're seeking talent who are ready to learn, adapt, and develop the skills needed to thrive in an AI-enabled future.
