Job summary

Barclays in New York seeks a U.S. Equities Lawyer – VP to provide legal and regulatory support to Global Markets, focusing on equity derivatives, Delta One, and equity swaps across the Americas. You will advise on complex transactions and partner with business leaders.

This role is an individual contributor with high visibility within Barclays’ Global Legal team. Qualified candidates will have experience in equity derivatives within a bank or leading law firm, strong knowledge of Delta One

Qualifications

• Experience advising on equity derivatives within an investment bank or leading law firm.
• Technical knowledge of Delta One products, equity swaps, flow derivatives, structured derivatives, and structured notes.
• Experience with OTC equity derivatives documentation, including ISDA Equity Definitions.
• Experience advising on corporate equity derivatives transactions involving issuers and shareholders.

Responsibilities

• Development and implementation of best practice legal strategies to manage compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
• Legal advice and support to the business units in the Markets division on matters arising from the relevant products/services.
• Subject matter support in the Legal department’s representation of the bank in legal proceedings related to the Markets business units.
• Creation and review of legal documents for the Markets division to ensure compliance with laws and regulations; maintain templates.
• Legal research and analysis to stay up to date on regulatory changes affecting Markets activities.
• Developing and delivering training programmes to educate employees on legal and regulatory requirements.
• Pro-active identification and communication of applicable laws, rules and regulations and ensuring reflected in policies and controls.
