Job summary

Mizuho is seeking a VP-level Financial Product Controller to oversee daily production, variance analysis, and reporting for Treasury fixed-income, loans, derivatives and FX. The role partners with Treasury, Operations and Finance to ensure accurate ledger entries and timely processes.

Responsibilities include month-end close, control evaluation, collaboration with FP&A on budgets, and support for FTP with trading desks. Strong communication and Excel/PowerPoint skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of combined experience in financial services or product control.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent (CPA preferred but not required)
• Problem-solving and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
• Understanding of Funding Products and Strategies preferred but not required.
• Escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Treasury Product Control; manage daily production, variance analysis and reporting for fixed-income, loans, derivatives and FX.
• Prepare weekly control pack for senior management.
• Close month-end with balance sheet substantiation and reporting for stakeholders.
• Evaluate internal controls; document procedures; liaise with internal/external auditors.
• Collaborate with business analysts, project managers and IT to improve processes and controls.
• Collaborate with FP&A on budget planning.
• Coordinate on FTP with trading desks.
• Assist Financial Control with P&L and balance sheet drivers.
