PURPOSE

Consistent with the credit union mission of building connections and providing our members the right financial services to live life, dream big and achieve financial success, the VP, Technology Services will:

  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee activities of corporate information technology systems, ensuring the efficient operation and implementation of all systems to meet current and future needs of the organization.
  • Serves as the technology leader providing the operational leadership for developing, executing, and implementing technology strategies and initiatives which promote seamless business processes and operations.
  • Works with the Senior / Chief Leadership Team to achieve the short- and long-term strategic planning goals and objectives of the Credit Union.
ROLES + RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise and mentor the IT leadership team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement an annual IT plan according to business requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Assist with managing the IT budget and resources, ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal utilization of IT assets and staff.
  • Coordinate with business units and develop strategies to implement various IT solutions effectively.
  • Oversee operations and strategy execution of the Infrastructure, Business Applications, Support Desk, Enterprise Solutions & Analysis, and Core Processing departments.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, board of directors, auditors, regulators, and vendors.
  • Facilitate preparation of project plans and proposals, outlining project objectives, technical requirements, and staffing requirements for proposed systems.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, vendors, and service providers that can enhance the credit union's IT capabilities and competitiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to IT, data privacy, and cyber-security.
  • Ensure the integrity and reliability of information systems and communication systems including the security of data acquired and stored.
  • Monitor and report on the performance, availability, and security of the credit union's IT systems and services, ensuring timely resolution of any issues or incidents.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends, developments, and best practices in the IT field, especially in the credit union industry.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications preferred.

Experience - Minimum of 10 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

Leadership – Must possess strong leadership and management skills that facilitate collaboration in a team environment. Extensive knowledge and experience in building cohesive IT teams required.

Industry Knowledge - Working knowledge of managing information technology teams, business continuity, incident response, and budget development is required.

Communication - Superior interpersonal and communication skills to influence others to understand and support strategies. Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills as well as strong organizational and analytical skills.

Technology – General understanding of enterprise technology including cloud computing, as-a-service models and emerging technologies.
