Vaxart is seeking a Vice President, Technical Operations to lead engineering, qualification and validation, facilities, and external supply in South San Francisco. This onsite role reports to the CTO and drives scalable, compliant manufacturing for oral vaccine candidates through development and regulatory stages.

The candidate will manage internal teams and external partners, ensure FDA/EMA/compliance, and build a cost-conscious, high-performing organization with a focus on quality and patient

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or life sciences; advanced degree preferred.
• ≥20 years biotechnology/pharma experience with 15+ years in Technical Operations leadership.
• Deep knowledge of cGMP, FDA, EMA, ICH; regulatory inspections experience.
• Experience authoring CMC content for regulatory submissions.
• Proven ability to lead CDMOs, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee facilities, utilities, equipment from concept to operation.
• Set engineering, qualification, validation strategies for internal/external ops.
• Develop scalable external manufacturing and supply approaches for pills.
• Partner with Quality to maintain compliant, phase-appropriate systems.
• Ensure CMC compliance with FDA/EMA/ICH and global requirements.
• Provide CMC leadership for regulatory submissions and health authorities.
• Build a high-performing, collaborative organization aligned with company principles.
• Establish performance measures for engineering, supply, and partner performance.
• Lead technology transfers from planning to regulatory approval.
• Provide technical leadership during investigations and risk-based decisions.
• Oversee CDMOs and logistics partners to scale with clinical/commercial demand.
• Ensure investments boost capability, resilience, and cost effectiveness.
