Job summary

Acrivon Therapeutics is seeking a seasoned R&D leader to provide scientific and strategic direction for drug discovery and research activities. The VP/SVP will head Drug Discovery, Biology, Translational Science, and DMPK/Toxicology, partnering with the CEO and clinical team to shape precision medicine strategy from target evaluation through IND to Phase 2.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in life sciences.
• 15+ years VP or 20+ years SVP biotechnology R&D experience.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary drug discovery teams.
• Experience advancing small-molecule programs from discovery to IND-enabling development.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific and strategic leadership across Acrivon's drug discovery portfolio.
• Drive data-driven analysis using AP3 platform to uncover mechanism of action.
• Integrate discovery, biology, pharmacology, translational science, DMPK/tox with biomarker and clinical teams.
• Drive program prioritization from target selection to development candidate nomination and IND-enabling development.
• Define critical experiments, decision criteria, and mitigation strategies with functional leaders.
• Guide translational strategies including PK/PD and biomarkers, patient selection, and dose/schedule optimization.
• Partner with Clinical Development to interpret emerging data and translate findings into development strategies.
• Provide scientific oversight of external collaborators and CROs.
