A leading marketing agency is seeking a VP, Strategy Director in New York. This role involves architecting communications strategies and CRM programs for B2B and B2C audiences, with responsibilities spanning from brief creation to optimizing customer engagement. Candidates should have over 10 years of experience and expertise in CRM and direct marketing.
MRM is seeking a standout VP, Strategy Director with expertise in CRM and communications planning to join our team in New York, NY. This person will help lead brief development, communications design, and CRM on a portfolio of brands. This role will report into the SVP Executive Strategy Director.
The Responsibilities
The VP Strategy Director will be responsible for:
*Architecting communications strategies and CRM programs targeted to B2B and B2C audiences
oMining culture, audience needs and behaviors, and category dynamics to distill insights
oCrafting focused and impactful briefs that drive immediate response or consumer action
oDevelop detailed customer journeys that outline jobs to be done, barriers, moments that matter, and needs that span the emotional, functional, and cultural
oDeveloping tactical connections briefs and messaging matrices that link our experiences and business objectives to key messages, RTBs, channels
oIdentifying opportunities to creatively capture 0 and 1st party data
oActivating CRM strategies with martech and marketing automation tools
oOptimize digital engagement to improve results and create meaningful touchpoints and enhance the customer experience based on results and best practices
*Actively creating an environment where we can sell bold work to our clients through proactive strategic thinking, business rationale, and bold insights.
oFacilitating alignment across agency disciplines (e.g., Business Leadership, Creative, Technology, Data, Media, UX), network partners, and clients
oPartnering with and/or managing and mentoring other Strategists on the business
oProactively identifying the key problems to be solved, opportunities to be captured, and goals to be delivered on
oRecommending and leading new workstreams as appropriate
*Partnering with business and strategic leadership to represent the agency with senior clients
The Requirements
The ideal candidate for this role will be:
*An experienced strategy leader, with required expertise CRM and communications planning
*Experienced in direct response, marketing orchestration, lead nurture, 1:1, content creation, and CRM
*Experience with marketing technology platforms (Adobe, Salesforce, etc.)
*Deep understanding of performance measurement
*Experience with research design (e.g., survey design, sampling, focus groups, creative testing stimulus and analysis) and digital strategy is a plus, but not mandatory
*10+ years related experience
*Bachelor's degree in a relevant area
*Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a knack for simplifying the complex and communicating with internal and external stakeholders
*Ability to pivot to accommodate client and agency priorities
*Passionate curiosity, collaborative spirit, optimism to find the answer, and work ethic to deliver

The salary range for this position is $125,000 to $300,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; the associated discipline; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure, and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee's/applicant's background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
