Job summary

The New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) is seeking a Vice President, Budget & Financial Analysis to lead enterprise budgeting, financial analysis, and governance. The role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and guides executive decision-making across the Garden’s complex revenue streams.

You will oversee the Budget, Grants & Contracts, and Financial Systems teams, ensuring disciplined annual budgeting, capital planning, and robust management reporting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in strategic financial analysis, long‑range modeling, operating budgeting, capital budgeting, and P&L development.
• Senior-level experience in nonprofit or complex fund environments, including endowment, government funding and restricted resources.
• Experience overseeing financial systems and reporting teams and ERP environments.
• Ability to advise senior executives and present complex analyses clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic financial analyses and decision-making across the Garden.
• Own and refine the multi-year financial model and scenario planning.
• Develop executive- and Board-level materials to support decisions.
• Oversee Budget, Grants & Contracts, and Financial Systems teams to ensure accurate reporting and controls.
• Collaborate with units to align financial planning with strategic goals.
