Job summary

Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) in Washington, DC seeks a Vice President of State Government Affairs to lead ITI’s state-level policy program. You will supervise a growing team, coordinate with cross-functional policy groups, and shape advocacy to represent ITI member priorities to state officials.

You will report to the Executive Vice President and play a pivotal role expanding ITI’s footprint in state capitols while guiding strategic engagement with policymakers and industry

Qualifications

• Leadership, strategic planning, and execution capabilities are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Broad knowledge of technology industry policy.
• Proficiency in identifying, monitoring, and analyzing state legislative activities.
• Track record of success in managing advocacy campaigns.
• Flexibility for up to 50% travel.
• Previous state government and/or trade association experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan to expand ITI’s state government affairs function.
• Identify, recruit, onboard, and manage a team of government affairs professionals and consultants as needed.
• Develop and coordinate state policy objectives with ITI Government Affairs, Public Sector and Policy teams.
• Provide strategic guidance and intelligence to member companies on priority state legislation nationwide.
• Represent ITI priorities before state policymakers with testimony, letters, comments, and meetings.
• Cultivate relationships at senior levels of state governments.
• Expand ITI’s presence in state policy discussions and advance member priorities.
