Job summary

BNY Mellon seeks a Vice President, SOX Control & Compliance to lead SOX/ICFR workstreams in New York. You will own risk assessments, walkthroughs, testing, and documentation while coordinating with auditors and control owners to ensure timely, audit-ready deliverables.

You will mentor junior team members, drive process improvements, and partner with Finance, Technology, and governance functions to strengthen controls and reporting accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, ACA, CIA, or CISA preferred.
• Experience in banking products, financial close, regulatory reporting, or enterprise controls.
• Exposure to process improvement or control rationalisation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of SOX and ICFR workstreams with planning, testing, and issue tracking.
• Coordinate risk assessments to identify significant processes and changes impacting financial reporting risk.
• Lead narratives, risk/control matrices, flowcharts, and control inventories; ensure audit readiness.
• Evaluate design and operating effectiveness of key SOX controls and document conclusions.
• Coordinate with control owners to obtain evidence and support testing activities.
• Identify control gaps, assess impact, and support remediation planning and validation.
• Serve as liaison for internal and external auditors throughout the audit lifecycle.
• Provide updates on progress, risks, and remediation status to management.
