Job summary

BNY in New York seeks a Vice President to own the SOX and ICFR programme deliverables, guiding risk assessments, walkthroughs, testing, and documentation. You’ll coordinate with control owners and auditors to ensure timely, audit-ready outputs.

You will mentor junior team members while driving improvements in controls, evidence standards, and remediation, strengthening the financial reporting control environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Risk Management, or related field.
• Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, ACA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in banking products, financial close, regulatory reporting, or enterprise controls frameworks such as COSO.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of SOX and ICFR workstreams, including planning, walkthroughs, testing, issue tracking, and reporting.
• Lead risk assessments to identify significant processes, key controls, and changes impacting financial reporting risk.
• Refresh narratives, risk/control matrices, flowcharts, and control inventories to stay audit-ready.
• Evaluate design and operating effectiveness of key SOX controls and document conclusions.
• Coordinate with control owners to schedule walkthroughs, gather evidence, and support testing.
• Identify control gaps, assess impact, and support remediation planning and validation.
• Serve as primary liaison for internal and external auditors across audits.
• Prepare concise updates on progress, risks, and remediation status for management.
• Coach Senior Associates and junior staff on testing methodology and documentation standards.
