Job summary

BNY in New York seeks a Vice President to lead the SOX Control & Compliance program. You will own end-to-end SOX/ICFR workstreams, coordinate risk assessments, and ensure audit-ready documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Risk Management, or related field.
• Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, ACA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in banking products, financial close, regulatory reporting, or enterprise controls frameworks such as COSO.
• Exposure to process improvement, automation opportunities, or control rationalisation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end delivery of assigned SOX and ICFR workstreams, including planning, walkthroughs, testing, issue tracking, and reporting against milestones.
• Perform and coordinate risk assessments to identify significant processes, key controls, and changes affecting financial reporting risk.
• Lead refresh of narratives, risk and control matrices, flowcharts, and control inventories for audit readiness.
• Evaluate design and operating effectiveness of key SOX manual controls with evidence review and conclusions.
• Coordinate with control owners to schedule walkthroughs, obtain evidence, and support timely testing completion.
• Identify control gaps, assess impact, and support remediation planning and validation of actions.
• Serve as primary liaison for internal and external auditors throughout the review lifecycle.
• Prepare concise progress updates and escalate issues when required.
• Coach Senior Associates and junior team members on testing methods and documentation standards.
