A leading company is seeking a VP, Solution Architect to oversee the technical stewardship of applications and development projects. The role involves ensuring system reliability, leading DevOps teams, and driving continuous improvement in application performance. Candidates should have a degree in Computer Engineering and extensive experience in application development, full stack development, and site reliability engineering. This position allows for 100% telecommuting.
VP, Solution Architect, Synchrony Bank, Stamford, CT. Responsible for the technical stewardship of multiple applications and associated development projects. Responsible for the dependability and scalability of enterprise- scale applications. Support the reliability process to ensure systems availability, stability, security, and performance, including maintenance and support, root cause analysis, systems validation, performance tuning, and capacity management. Lead DevOps teams in shared responsibility for the reliability of applications. Drive a root cause analysis program that will lead to reduced downtime, increased resiliency, and a culture of continuous improvement. Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and appropriate metrics to track and report adherence to service SLOs and SLAs, performance, and operational efficiency. Establish platform health reporting guidelines and communication plans. Execute application and underlying framework end of life (EOL) requirements/opportunities, continuous capacity management, and associated investment plans. Drive progress on incidents and support escalation cases.
40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Engineering or a related field, and five (5) years of post- baccalaureate, progressive related work experience.
Must have five (5) years of experience with/in:
• Application development and design, and supporting associated infrastructure;
• Full stack development using Spring, JEE technologies, Spring REST API, and UI technologies and frameworks;
• Designing, building, and troubleshooting large scale distributed systems, and microservice oriented applications;
• Knowledge of Agile, OpenAPI and gateway generating specification;
• Mobile solutions including native and mobile web;
• Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Systems Engineering; and
• Building, deploying, and operating large-scale distributed, microservice oriented applications.
