Job summary

CoStar Group, a leading global real estate information provider, seeks a Vice President of Software Engineering in Irvine, CA. You will lead all development and delivery of software, coaching 80+ engineers and collaborating with the CEO, CFO and CTO to define processes for scale.

You’ll drive multi-team initiatives, ensure high-quality software practices, and oversee recruitment, performance, and strategic technology choices to advance LoopNet’s platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• 10+ years leading large engineering teams
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders including at CEO level
• Experience architecting high-availability cloud-based software systems including full-stack platforms
• Hands-on knowledge of frontend tech (JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular) and/or API/platform development (C#)

Responsibilities

• Act as player coach with 10+ years’ experience and manage multiple project teams
• Coordinate activities across 10-15 teams and resolve priorities
• Mentor and manage Technical Managers
• Interact with technology and business executives
• Lead software development projects to meet specs, timelines and budget
• Provide status reports to Business Management and act as release manager
• Document success criteria with clients and drive engineering excellence
• Hire, onboard and retain top engineers; coach and retain A Players
