Archer in partnership with JPMorgan Chase seeks a Senior Architecture Operations & Governance Lead to drive end‑to‑end governance for Merchant Services Acquiring. You will own intake, review boards, ADRs, standards, and exceptions, enabling fast, auditable decisions across product and engineering teams.

You will influence stakeholders without formal authority, improve governance consistency, and leverage AI capabilities with careful validation and data handling to accelerate architecture

Qualifications

• 5+ years applying architecture governance in a complex technology organization.
• Experience running review boards, decision tracking, standards and guardrails management.
• Fluency with architecture artifacts, target state architectures, NFRs and ADRs.
• Ability to influence across senior engineers, architects, product managers without formal authority.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive‑ready communication.

Responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end architecture governance for Merchant Services Acquiring, including intake, triage, artifact definition, routing, and closure.
• Plan and run architecture review boards and forums with agendas, pre‑reads, facilitation, minutes and decisions.
• Maintain auditable decision records and ADRs so decisions are discoverable and reusable.
• Improve architecture standards and guardrails, including templates and NFR checklists for consistency.
• Run exception workflows with clear rationale, approvals, expiry and remediation tracking.
• Review submissions for completeness on NFRs, dependencies, resiliency, security and data considerations.
• Partner with domain architects to improve content quality and promote reuse of patterns.
• Provide clear status and governance metrics for leadership and stakeholders.
• Influence across product and engineering to reduce coordination overhead and boost governance transparency.
• Leverage enterprise‑authorized AI capabilities with human validation and data protection.
