Job summary

STATE STREET CORPORATION is seeking an experienced Securities Lending Trader in Prime Services to drive revenue growth by sourcing borrows, optimizing inventory, and structuring financing transactions. You will build relationships with hedge funds and broker-dealers, deliver market insights to clients, and work with Sales, Product, Technology, and Risk teams in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 5+ years in securities finance trading, strong communication, and proficiency with Bloomberg

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in Securities Finance trading.
• Self-starter with motivation to make the team successful.
• Proficiency in Bloomberg and Microsoft Excel.
• Travel up to 10% may be required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Borrow and lend securities to facilitate client short sales and financing activities across global markets.
• Manage and optimize inventory utilization, balancing client demand, funding considerations, regulatory requirements, and balance sheet efficiency.
• Structure and negotiate securities lending and financing transactions, identifying hard-to-borrow opportunities and market dislocations to maximize profitability while managing risk.
• Provide market color, borrow intelligence, and trading insights to hedge funds, portfolio managers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with hedge funds, broker-dealers, agent lenders, and other securities finance counterparties.
• Collaborate with Sales and Client Management teams to grow client relationships and increase wallet share.
