Job summary

The Carlyle Group seeks a Vice President, SEC Reporting in Washington, DC to lead the full lifecycle of public disclosures, including 10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks, earnings decks, and the proxy. This role partners with Con- solidations, FP&A, Investor Relations, Legal, and external auditors to ensure accurate, timely filings and robust internal controls.

Responsibilities include overseeing the SEC reporting process, governing disclosures across the firm, and driving innovation through AI and automation.

Qualifications

  • Concentration in accounting, finance or related field.
  • CPA required.
  • 10+ years of progressive professional experience, including Big 4/public company SEC reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing staff.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC disclosures.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, oversee, and file quarterly and annual SEC reports (10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks, proxy).
  • Coordinate quarterly earnings materials with FP&A and ensure consistency with SEC filings.
  • Serve on the Disclosure Committee and present to Audit Committee; cover significant judgments and new standards.
  • Manage external audit relationship and respond to inquiries; oversee PBC deliverables.
  • Oversee ICFR and SOX controls related to SEC reporting; maintain control environment.
  • Lead innovation in reporting processes, leveraging AI/automation and Workiva.
  • Provide mentorship to one direct report and broader leadership across Corporate Accounting.
