McKesson is seeking a Vice President, RxOwnership - Central Region who will be responsible for gaining new business and retaining existing business by facilitating ownership transfers through matching potential buyers and sellers, consulting on the process, arranging financing, and creating general awareness of alternatives to selling to a chain pharmacy. The VP, RxOwnership is responsible for planning and executing a regional strategy to increase successful ownership transfers. This role serves as a resource for the field sales teams and leads key regional initiatives.
RxOwnership is a comprehensive McKesson service comprising self-service tools, full-service consulting, and financing solutions designed to support pharmacists through the purchase or sale of an independent pharmacy. The service has demonstrated success in expanding business and retaining clients by facilitating ownership transfers, matching buyers and sellers, consulting, financing, and promoting alternatives to chain pharmacy sales. Salary is commensurate with location and may vary by region.
Position Summary
The VP, RxOwnership is tasked with developing and executing regional strategies to increase successful ownership transfers.
Candidates should have extensive knowledge of retail pharmacy operations, excellent project management and analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across organizational levels. The role requires managing through influence and working independently with high autonomy. Salary varies based on location.
Responsibilities include providing consultative support to buyers and sellers, managing brokerage processes, evaluating business viability, developing financing relationships, tracking industry activity, and developing program tactics.
Minimum requirements include a relevant degree and 10+ years of experience, with fewer years acceptable if complemented by advanced qualifications. A Bachelor's degree is required; an MBA and pharmacist licensure are preferred. Travel up to 60% is required. Critical skills include experience in retail pharmacy, business and finance knowledge, legal and regulatory understanding, and ownership transfer expertise. Additional preferred skills include McKesson experience, brokerage experience, loan and financial statement knowledge, and Salesforce proficiency.
Expected competencies encompass confidentiality, critical thinking, problem-solving, results orientation, communication skills, influence, decisiveness, emotional intelligence, confidence, and self-motivation.
Physical requirements involve general office work, remote work capability, and travel.

Our pay range for this position is $130,900 - $218,100.
