McKesson is seeking a Vice President, RxOwnership – Central Region, responsible for gaining new business and retaining existing business by facilitating ownership transfers through matching potential buyers and sellers, consulting on the process, arranging financing, and creating awareness of alternatives to selling to a chain pharmacy. The VP, RxOwnership will plan and execute regional strategies to increase successful ownership transfers, serve as a resource for field sales teams, and lead key regional initiatives.
RxOwnership is a comprehensive service comprising self-service tools, consulting, and financing solutions, supporting pharmacists through pharmacy purchase or sale. The role involves developing regional strategies, working with industry partners, maintaining databases, analyzing industry status, and supporting program development.
Position Summary
The VP, RxOwnership, will develop and implement strategies to increase ownership transfers, collaborate with various stakeholders, ensure smooth transfer processes, and support regional goals for business growth and retention.
Key responsibilities include working with associations, pharmacy schools, and sales teams; promoting program confidentiality; tracking activities; developing training and marketing materials; assisting with brokerage and financing processes; analyzing industry data; and fostering industry relationships.
Qualifications include extensive experience in retail pharmacy operations, project management, analytical skills, and the ability to operate independently across a large geography. A Bachelor's degree is required; an MBA and pharmacy licensure are preferred. The role requires 60% travel, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of pharmacy laws, financial analysis, and ownership transfer processes.
Additional skills preferred include experience with McKesson systems, brokerage, loan processes, and industry regulations. The role demands confidentiality, critical thinking, problem-solving, results orientation, and strong interpersonal skills. Physical demands include the ability to work remotely and travel as needed.
