Job summary

Everest is seeking a Senior Reserving Actuary to lead reserve adequacy, governance, and communication across Insurance and Reinsurance portfolios. You will partner with executive leadership to influence financial decisions through credible reserve analyses.

This role reports to the Global Chief Reserving Actuary and will help shape Everest's reserving capabilities by strengthening governance, improving processes, and communicating reserve indications and emerging trends across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• FCAS designation required.
• 15+ years of P&C actuarial experience.
• Extensive reserving leadership experience across commercial insurance and/or reinsurance.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
• Proven ability to present reserve recommendations to executive management.

Responsibilities

• Lead quarterly and annual reserve reviews across multiple business segments.
• Provide independent assessment of reserve adequacy and reserve risk.
• Oversee development and communication of reserve indications and recommendations.
• Ensure consistency of reserving methodologies for Insurance and Reinsurance portfolios.
• Partner with Finance on reserve booking decisions and financial reporting.
• Support regulatory reporting, statutory filings, and reserve-related disclosures.
• Provide reserve insights to executive leadership, including trends, volatility, and emerging risks.
• Participate in strategic planning and portfolio management discussions.
• Oversee actuarial documentation, controls, and model governance.
• Drive continuous improvement of reserving processes and reporting.
• Mentor actuaries in the Reserving organization.
• Foster collaboration with Pricing, Claims, Finance, and Underwriting teams.
• Champion innovation, analytics, and automation initiatives.

About the Role

The Senior Reserving Actuary is a strategic leadership role within the Global Reserving organization. This position is responsible for overseeing reserve adequacy, reserving governance, and reserve communication across Insurance and Reinsurance portfolios. The successful candidate will serve as a key business partner to executive leadership and will influence financial decision-making through credible and insightful reserve analyses.

This role will work closely with the Global Chief Reserving Actuary and senior business leaders to ensure consistency of reserving practices, strengthen governance frameworks, enhance reserving processes, and provide transparent communication of reserve indications and emerging trends across the enterprise. The role is expected to be a visible leader within the broader actuarial organization and help shape the future direction of Everest's reserving capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Reserving Leadership

• Lead quarterly and annual reserve reviews across multiple business segments.

The base salary range for this position is $230,000 - $275,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
