Job summary

Competitive Power Ventures, Inc. (CPV) seeks a Vice President, Procurement & Contracting, Renewable Power in the Boston area.

This role will craft procurement strategies, negotiate major equipment and EPC contracts, and manage key supplier relationships to support CPV’s wind and solar projects. The successful candidate will lead a growing team and partner with Legal, Finance, and Engineering to align cost, schedule, and risk objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; MBA/JD preferred.
• 10+ years in procurement, contracting, or project commercial management in energy.
• Experience with utility-scale wind/solar or capital-intensive projects preferred.
• Experience leading procurement/contracting function.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with CPV’s renewable project development, investment and construction schedules.
• Lead competitive sourcing and contract award for major equipment, EPC and balance-of-plant construction and other critical project services, with focus on long-lead and high-value commitments.
• Lead negotiation of term sheets and definitive agreements, working with Legal and internal SMEs to achieve competitive commercial outcomes and risk allocation.
• Maintain senior relationships with OEMs, contractors and strategic suppliers while monitoring market conditions and risks that may affect cost or schedule.
• Establish procurement and contract administration processes, approval requirements and reporting, and recruit and develop the team.
• Oversee post‑award commercial administration, including contractual obligations, notices, milestones, and closeout.
• Drive supplier accountability and support project teams in resolving performance issues and disputes.
• Provide clear updates to Senior Management and represent CPV in supplier, project, investor and lender discussions.
