About The Role

The VP, Relationship Manager, Commercial Deposits & Treasury Management proactively develops new commercial relationships and deepens existing ones, collaborating with commercial lenders, branch managers, and business support teams to deliver holistic deposit and treasury management solutions. Through consultative sales and relationship management, this role drives fee income, grows non-interest-bearing deposits, and provides comprehensive banking relationships tailored to each client’s needs.

What You’ll Do
  • Understanding of Treasury Management Products & Services
    • Maintain a deep knowledge of various products, including cash management, liquidity management, and risk management.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, new products, services, and best practices in treasury management.
  • Business Development & Relationship Management
    • Proactively identify and engage new commercial prospects through networking, referrals, and targeted outreach.
    • Build and deepen relationships with existing clients to uncover opportunities, focusing on deposit growth and treasury solutions.
  • Treasury Management & Deposit Growth
    • Analyze client’s cash flow, payments, and financial needs to recommend appropriate solutions.
    • Serve as the primary advisor on treasury products (ACH, wires, RDC, merchant services, fraud prevention, etc.), aligning solutions with client needs.
    • Provide professional sales presentations, recommending products and services that are of value to the client/prospect.
    • Drive non-interest-bearing deposit growth and fee income through consultative discussions and cross-selling relevant banking services.
  • Deposit Portfolio Management
    • Oversee the growth and retention of existing commercial deposit relationships, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.
    • Prepare and conduct annual client relationship reviews to ensure proper account structure, services, pricing, and to identify opportunities to expand existing relationships by offering value-add solutions.
    • Provide ongoing service and support, proactively addressing any issues or opportunities to optimize account usage and client satisfaction.
  • Client Onboarding & Implementation
    • Oversee the setup and ongoing support of new treasury services, ensuring smooth onboarding, effective training, and prompt issue resolution.
    • Partner with internal teams to ensure a high-quality client experience.
  • Collaboration & Market Engagement
    • Work closely with commercial lenders, branch managers, and business support teams to coordinate relationship strategies and refine offerings.
    • Participate in community and industry events to enhance the Bank’s visibility and identify emerging market needs.
    • Participation in a minimum of one outside strategic leadership role to build strong relationships and develop new business.
  • Risk & Compliance
    • Adhere to all regulatory and internal policies, escalating potential risks as necessary.
    • Maintain a proactive stance on fraud prevention, operational controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to Bank’s Overall Success
    • Help the bank achieve its revenue and profitability targets through effective treasury management sales.
    • Meet individual sales targets and goals set by management.
Education & Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 6-8+ years of direct experience in either or commercial banking, treasury management, or deposit sales, with a history of achieving revenue targets.
  • Expertise in treasury products and a strong grasp of deposit acquisition and retention strategies.
  • Proven ability to manage a sales pipeline, build client relationships, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
