Job summary

Verano Holdings Corp. in Chicago seeks a Vice President of Real Estate to lead the administration and growth of the real estate portfolio across markets. This hands-on role owns leasing, acquisitions, financings, zoning, and due diligence, partnering with Legal, Regulatory, Finance, and Operations.

The candidate will supervise the real estate asset manager, lease administrator, and paralegal, ensuring compliance and portfolio performance while supporting Verano's expansion.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in Illinois (Juris Doctorate required).
• 8+ years of commercial real estate experience, multi-site portfolio preferred.
• Experience drafting and negotiating leases, purchase agreements, and financing documents.
• Experience supervising outside real estate counsel and internal teams is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead drafting, negotiation and execution of leases, amendments, renewals, and terminations across Verano's national real estate portfolio.
• Own property acquisitions and dispositions from start to finish, including LOIs and purchase agreements.
• Structure and manage mortgages, financings, and sale-leaseback transactions with internal and external partners.
• Oversee zoning, entitlements, permitting, and due diligence for all locations.
• Coordinate title, survey, environmental reviews, and closing requirements with stakeholders.
• Partner on cannabis licensing requirements tied to real estate, including local approvals and state applications.
