Job summary

Brookfield is seeking a Vice-President, Property Tax to lead a geographically dispersed team and drive best-in-class property tax performance across core real estate sectors. You will shape tax strategies, manage the appeals process, and collaborate with Asset Management and Investments to support platform decisions.

The role requires a degree in accounting or finance, extensive team leadership, and deep knowledge of ad valorem taxation across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate/Graduate degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• Experience in all aspects of team management and personnel growth.
• Technical background in ad valorem taxation of real and personal property and property tax accounting.
• Property tax appeals experience with multi-state representation and external advisor management.
• Excellent communication and adaptability to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement property tax strategies across core real estate sectors to improve bottom-line profitability.
• Lead a geographically dispersed property tax team and develop its performance.
• Manage the property tax appeal and compliance processes, including budgeting for assets.
• Collaborate with Asset Management and Investments to support platform decisions.
• Assess asset growth opportunities using AI-enabled strategies.
