Job summary

Kailera Therapeutics in Waltham, MA, seeks a Vice President, Program Management to lead the operational execution of late-stage development across multiple programs. You will manage a team of three Program Managers and align cross-functional partners to milestones and governance.

This role demands strategic and hands-on leadership, Ph3 experience, and a track record building scalable program-management infrastructure in a fast-moving biotech environment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in biotech/pharma with program management in clinical-stage organizations.
• Track record driving Phase 3 programs to NDA submission.
• Direct people management experience.
• Operational knowledge of integrated development planning, cross-functional execution, and governance infrastructure.
• Experience in general medicine therapeutic areas; oncology backgrounds less preferred.
• History of succeeding in lean, fast-moving biotech environments.
• Exceptional communication and facilitation skills.

Responsibilities

• Own integrated program management across Kailera's development portfolio, with primary accountability for Phase 3 programs.
• Drive evolution of program management capabilities toward portfolio-based framework with enterprise-wide visibility.
• Build and maintain integrated project plans, timelines, and cross-functional dependencies.
• Track and communicate program status, milestones, and risks.
• Ensure cross-functional teams are aligned on priorities and decisions.
• Identify risks and interdependencies; drive issue resolution with urgency.
• Participate in Quarterly Business Reviews with updates on milestones and risks.
• Partner with Clinical, Regulatory, CMC, and Medical Affairs to ensure Phase 3 plans are integrated.
• Manage timelines from Phase 3 initiation through NDA readiness across workstreams.
• Support COO in shaping late-stage development strategy with operational insights.
• Mentor and develop three Program Managers and contractors.
• Foster high-performing team culture with clear expectations and accountability.
• Model cross-functional collaboration and operational excellence across the organization.
• Coach PMs for growth and expanded scope over time.
• Align program objectives with Kailera's Operating Principles and governance frameworks.
• Develop governance frameworks, dashboards, and tools to drive efficiency and visibility across programs.
