Job summary

HarbourVest Partners in Boston seeks a Vice President to join the Primary Investments team. You will source, underwrite, and manage private equity, growth equity, and venture capital opportunities while representing HarbourVest with General Partners and Limited Partners.

The ideal candidate has 5–10+ years in private markets, strong Excel analytics, and the leadership to drive projects. You will collaborate across teams, mentor colleagues, and support client service efforts daily.

Qualifications

• Five to ten plus years of experience in private equity, investments, or advisory roles.
• Strong investment analysis and due diligence capabilities across PE, growth equity and VC.
• Proven ability to source, evaluate, and monitor investments and manage portfolios.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the investment process from due diligence to closing and memos.
• Source new opportunities and deepen relationships with General Partners.
• Monitor investments through LPAC meetings, annual meetings, and partner updates.
• Mentor junior team members and support client services and materials.
