Job summary

Western Alliance Bank seeks a Vice President, Portfolio Management Team Leader to drive day-to-day lending team execution and cross-functional collaboration. You will lead portfolio managers and analysts, overseeing underwriting and originating loans for law firms and associated businesses.

In this role you will manage client relationships, ensure compliance with lending policies, and guide the team to deliver timely credit decisions while partnering with sales for growth.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Portfolio Management with underwriting experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Previous leadership experience required.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.
• Advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations and loan administration.
• Regulatory and legal compliance knowledge and practices.
• Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
• Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets.

Responsibilities

• Manage workflow of portfolio managers and credit analysts; own end-to-end loan execution for your team.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for standard transactions and portfolio risks.
• Partner with the sales team to develop and maintain client relationships and ensure timely credit processes.
• Interface with clients to assess credit needs and determine required analysis, including prescreening of loans.
• Review work from portfolio managers and analysts, including memos, loan presentations, and risk reviews.
• Supervise portfolio management activities, including credit concentration reviews and portfolio optimization.
• Lead and develop a team; hiring, coaching, performance management, training and development.
• Reinforce superior customer service with clients and employees.
