Job summary

Western Alliance Bancorporation seeks a Vice President, Portfolio Manager for the Mid Market segment to analyze, structure, underwrite, and coordinate complex loans in line with lending policies. The role partners with the Commercial Banker to manage credit risk and achieve bank goals.

You will interface with clients, gather data, and present financing requests to senior management or Loan Committee, ensuring timely processing and adherence to policies. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of related experience in Portfolio Management or similar field.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of commercial credit and loan structuring, and pricing dynamics. Credit analyst training completed.
• Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interface with clients in-person, over the phone and email to assess credit needs and determine structure.
• Gather and analyze information to present a financing request to senior management or Loan Committee for approval.
• Coordinate processing of approved loans and ensure compliance with bank policies and customer needs.
• Reinforce superior customer service through action and follow-through with customers and employees.
• Handle underwriting, portfolio management and related tasks for new and existing loans.
