Job description

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Academic Partnerships. We are currently looking for a VP, Paid Marketing in the United States.

This is a pivotal leadership opportunity for a data-driven and visionary marketing executive to lead paid media strategy across all digital and traditional channels. As VP of Paid Marketing, you will be responsible for driving customer acquisition and brand visibility for a portfolio of online university programs. You'll lead a high-performing team and oversee media investments that align with performance goals and long-term innovation. This role is ideal for a strategic leader with deep performance marketing expertise and a passion for technology, transformation, and team development in a fast-paced and mission-driven environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the strategy and execution of paid media across all channels, including search, affiliates, social, programmatic, video, display, and traditional
  • Allocate and manage large-scale media budgets ($100M+) to drive ROI, lifetime value, and customer acquisition for university partner programs
  • Anticipate trends in consumer behavior, privacy, AI, and platforms to keep media strategy agile, scalable, and compliant
  • Oversee agency selection and performance, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with business goals
  • Drive innovation through continuous testing, optimization, and marketing technology adoption
  • Develop future-focused KPIs and analytics to evaluate performance and long-term value creation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, creative, technology, and sales to ensure holistic campaign execution
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning, mentoring a team of 50+ marketers and guiding professional development


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of performance marketing experience, with 8+ years in senior leadership roles at large organizations (2,500+ employees)
  • Proven success developing and scaling paid marketing strategies with strong performance and brand awareness outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex media ecosystems and leading digital transformation efforts
  • Expertise across digital platforms (Google, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, Programmatic DSPs, CTV, and affiliate networks)
  • Deep knowledge of analytics, attribution models, incrementality testing, and marketing technology platforms
  • Strong leadership background, having built and led large, diverse marketing teams
  • Experience collaborating with creative teams to scale high-performing assets across multiple channels
