Radial Entertainment seeks a VP, Owned & Operated Applications to relaunch and grow its direct-to-consumer O&O streaming apps. You will own strategy, roadmap, distribution and revenue for the FilmRise, Shout!

and related apps across Roku, Fire TV, Google TV and more. Reporting to the EVP, Distribution, you will lead cross-functional teams, optimize monetization, and scale user acquisition while partnering with content, ad sales, legal and finance.

Radial Entertainment is a global entertainment company, formed through the merger of Shout! Studios and FilmRise, backed by Oaktree Capital Management. Radial boasts a diverse library of over 70,000 movies and episodes, making it the largest independent catalog in the industry. The company delivers high-quality entertainment to all major consumer platforms including FAST channels, AVOD, SVOD, TVOD, physical product, theatrical film and more. Its programming spans a wide range of genres, including true crime, reality, animation, action, westerns, horror, award-winners, cult classics, creator content, and more. Radial is the pre-eminent, purpose-built independent distributor for the streaming era.

We are seeking a VP, Owned & Operated Applications to lead the relaunch and growth of Radial Entertainment’s owned & operated streaming applications. Radial reaches audiences worldwide through a ~70,000-title film and television catalog distributed across FAST, AVOD, SVOD and TVOD on streaming services such as Pluto TV, Tubi, The Roku Channel and Amazon Prime Video, and across the Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Google TV, Samsung, LG, VIZIO, and other device platforms. This role owns Radial’s direct-to-consumer app footprint: the FilmRise, Shout! and related O&O streaming apps that carry our catalog and monetize it directly.

Reporting to the EVP, Distribution, this is a senior, entrepreneurial builder role. The VP will own the strategy, roadmap, distribution and revenue for Radial’s O&O apps end to end: From relaunching and consolidating our app portfolio, to working with vendors and platforms on product development and monetization stack, to scaling user acquisition and retention. Success requires working cross-functionally with all levels of the organization internally – content and programming, advertising and monetization partners, platform/OEM relationships, legal, finance and marketing – and treating every platform partnership as an opportunity to drive growth and engagement.

Pay Rate: $150k – $200k DOE

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end launch and long-term roadmap for Radial’s O&O streaming applications across all major CTV/OTT platforms – Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Google TV, Samsung, LG, VIZIO, Comcast and others – including consolidation of Radial’s current multi-brand, multi-platform app footprint into a coherent, high-performing portfolio.
• Serve as primary owner and program lead of the app development and implementation workstream, leading the steering committee and working cross-functionally to turn strategic vision into execution
• Own the O&O app revenue line and its economics: grow AVOD and SVOD monetization, close yield gaps against platform benchmarks, and improve cost of acquisition and retention.
• Set and execute the partnership driven strategy for app development, app monetization, CMS and analytics - including managing transitions between incumbent and new vendors, and negotiating the commercial and technical terms that govern app distribution with platforms and OEMs.
• Serve as the senior relationship owner with device and OS platform partners for Radial, securing app placement, merchandising and co-marketing commitments.
• Partner with content operations and programming to align catalog activation, artwork, geo-blocking, and scheduling with engagement and monetization goals of the entire Radial library
• Work with the advertising and monetization team on direct and managed-service ad sales against O&O inventory, and with marketing to drive installs, engagement and retention.
• Coordinate closely with Legal on vendor, platform and rights agreements, and with Finance on forecasting, reporting and the app P&L.
• Build, mentor and scale the O&O distribution team and operating cadence required to run a modern O&O streaming app business.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in streaming, digital distribution, or connected-TV platforms, with a track record of owning outcomes and revenue.
• Direct experience either (a) in streaming app distribution in a senior role for a major or top-tier streaming service, and/or (b) in a senior role managing the app-platform side of the business at a device/OS platform/etc
• Entrepreneurial operator who has launched, relaunched, pivoted, or built a product or business line from the ground up – comfortable owning ambiguity and moving fast.
• Deep fluency in CTV monetization economics across FAST, AVOD, and SVOD – CPMs, fill, rev-share structures, ad signals, subscription economics, windowing and platform vendor terms.
• Intuitive understanding of product features, operating strategies, and user behavior dynamics that drive CTV engagement and retention
• Experience working with large data sets to extract insights for audience demo profiles and content genres
• Strong existing relationships across the device/OEM and platform ecosystem.
• Proven cross-functional leader who can operate credibly with content, ad sales, legal, finance and marketing, and communicate effectively at every level of an organization, up to and including the executive team and board.
• Excellent commercial judgment and negotiation skills; comfortable pressure-testing partner terms and internal assumptions.
• MBA and/or JD helpful but not required.
