Job summary

Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana seeks a strategic VP of Operations to lead its 23-parish distribution network, drive execution of logistics, facilities, and inventory management, and partner with the CEO and ELT to ensure resilience and growth.

You will champion continuous improvement, optimize processes, and build a high‑performing team to deliver meals efficiently and sustainably across Southeast Louisiana.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related field.
• 5-10 years of progressive operations experience in a multi-facility environment, 5 of which are at a senior level.
• Experience must include fleet management, warehousing, transportation, food distribution, inventory control, warehouse management systems and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Recommend, plan, and coordinate all ongoing activities for East and West Regional Operations.
• Recruit, motivate and lead a high-performance team.
• Develop annual goals and coordinate with the Executive leadership team.
• Oversee plans for program/service expansion within budgets.
• Develop and implement sustainable strategies for Operations.
• Develop annual operating and capital budgets for Operations.
• Instill project management and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Manage the company’s project portfolio.
• Advise on policies, initiatives, and problem-solving.
• Review results and implement corrective actions.
• Mentor staff and conduct performance reviews.
