Job summary

Accordion Partners in the United States is seeking a Vice President (Manager) for its Operational & Technical Accounting Advisory practice. The role focuses on PE-backed portfolio companies, delivering technical accounting, policy design, and ERP implementation across complex transactions.

You will lead cross-functional engagements, guide financial reporting improvements, and mentor team members while interfacing with senior sponsors and CFOs. Hybrid work with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-9 years of experience in financial accounting or operations at a top-tier public accounting or financial advisory firm, and/or private company.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA is a plus
• A strong and up‑to‑date knowledge of US GAAP (exposure to IFRS is a plus), with deep technical understanding of topics such as ASC 606 revenue recognition, lease transactions, purchase accounting, etc.
• Experience in the following areas: technical accounting advisory, audit readiness, and functional accounting / controllership support
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Strong client service mindset and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Identify and rectify issues across a broad range of scenarios as part of a lean, cross-functional team.
• Engage in representative engagements including close process improvements and policy design.
• Support consolidation, ERP implementation, and technical accounting projects for PE-backed companies.
• Lead by example and mentor others within a growing team.
• Coordinate with Private Equity sponsors and portfolio company CFOs.
