Job description

VP of Technology - Healthcare Insurance

We are seeking a visionary VP of Technology to lead our technological initiatives within the healthcare insurance plan sector. In this strategic role, you will spearhead the management and evolution of our IT infrastructure, ensuring alignment with our business objectives. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our data management processes, network and systems infrastructure, ensuring our technological advancements drive operational efficiency and strategic growth.

Salary: $225,000 - $265,000 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead initiatives in Data Management, Reporting, Network, and Systems Infrastructure.
  • Oversee the technological infrastructure to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Develop and execute the IT strategic plan and drive the IT roadmap in support of overarching enterprise strategies.
  • Formulate IT strategies, policies, procedures, and best practices while ensuring compliance with project management and change management protocols.
  • Manage IT vendor relationships to foster strong, strategic partnerships and maximize system effectiveness by making financially prudent decisions.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to assess technological needs and devise solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Lead innovation by identifying new technologies and system and process improvements.
  • Prepare and manage IT budget to support both strategic and operational goals.
  • Manage the company’s facilities and leasing relationships.
  • Ensure the robustness of IT disaster recovery plans and compliance with HIPAA, PHI, and other regulatory standards.
  • Additional responsibilities as required to ensure the IT department’s success.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 15 years of experience in data management and business intelligence, including 5 years in technology management within a large IT organization.
  • Experience in the healthcare plan industry is mandatory.
  • Proven capability to align IT solutions with business strategy and goals.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, developing, and implementing complex IT solutions within a healthcare framework.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • Certifications in Project Management (PMP), ITIL, or relevant fields.
  • Proven track record of leading IT transform initiatives that have delivered significant business value.
  • Experience overseeing large budgets and contracts in an IT context.
  • Strong familiarity with current technological trends suitable for healthcare applications.
