Job summary

Nema, an AI company based in San Francisco, is seeking an experienced systems engineer to lead engineering lifecycle management for complex hardware systems. You will work closely with defense and robotics companies, owning the systems engineering domain model and leading technical interactions with engineering executives.

The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in safety-critical platforms and be excited about the role of AI as a collaborator. This position does not offer visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in systems, safety, V&V, or certification engineering.
• Background at a defense prime, eVTOL OEM, AV company, or automotive Tier 1.
• Excited about LLMs / Agents as collaborators.

Responsibilities

• Own the systems engineering domain model for autonomous machines.
• Lead customer calls with VPs of Engineering.
• Be the public face of Nema in the SE community.
